I heard people say this shampoo helps out with hair growth, I was wondering if there are any bad side effects from using it (hair loss, ect). And could I use it on a daily basis, or every other day?
ps. im trying to grow longer hairNioxin Shampoo? (20 characters)?
I have done extensive study on hair growth/loss/health,ect...I have no personal exp. with the NIOXIN,but..I will tell you this,I do believe it is the ONLY topical/shampoo that MIGHT help with hair growth,I've heard nothing but good things about it:-)It's definately worth a shot.
However, also keep in mind, hair grows from the INSIDE of the body, not the outside,so DIET is the main key,so on that note...here's the best tips for you to start now......
Eat lots of protein, hair is made up of protein/keratin,so get your meat, milk, eggs, fish, nuts, ect.
Take a multi vitamin every day,to make up for anything your not getting out of your every day diet.
Take a hair/nail/skin formula every day.
Take Omega 3,6%26amp;9 Complex every day
Biotin 2,500 mgs per day(to help with hair health, possibly growth too).
You can massage your scalp during shampooing too(5 minutes once a day),that increases circulation, which helps w/scalp health and growth.
There is no ';magic'; shampoo/oil,ect that will help, hair grows from the INSIDE of your body, not the ends of the hair. That's why diet is so important. However good hair products will help by keeping the outside/look of your hair healthier, protect it from breaking.
Try Loreal EVERPURE shampoo/conditioner,it is SULFATE-FREE,sulfates(sodium laurel/laureth sulfates) are BAD for your scalp/hair.They are used in cleaning products, like garage/floor cleaners, and they are in your current shampoo, can almost garuntee that(go check your lables),they are in 90% of shampoos, including Main N Tail,Pantene, ect
Also, think about a Doctors appt, bad thyroid, hormonal imbalance, ect can all contribute to hair loss,so it may be Medical,I'd rule out anything like that FIRST,b/c if it's medical..then your wasting your time w/everything else.Nioxin Shampoo? (20 characters)?
Nioxin not helps for hair growth. If you want hair growth shampoo, I suggest GROW! Shampoo %26amp; conditioner for fast hair growth

Nioxin, Rogaine...what works?!?!?!?
I'm 21 years old and I have been cursed with thin, fine hair. I recently started noticing that I seem to be losing hair, especially when I wash it. So, I started washing my hair every other day and I still see it. I have oily hair so I was washing it every day. I don't know if I am losing an excessive amount of hair but I am concerned. I haven't coloured it in a while, and I don't intend to colour it anytime soon, and I don't blowdry or straighten my hair either. But, I have heard great things about Nioxin helping people with fine hair so I'm wondering if that works? I've also heard that Nioxin makes your hair fall out more so I'm scared to use it. Also, some people say Rogaine is better, so I'm wondering which is best?
I also take a multi-vitamin and Biotin everyday.
Thanks for your help.Nioxin, Rogaine...what works?!?!?!?
I had my waist length hair cut (accidentally, in all places, REHAB!- just cause we're trying to get clean and normal doesn't mean everybody does :(...) to my collar bones and it devastated me! My youngest daughter (who is a cosmetologist) told me about Nioxin and I swear by it. In fact, it really worked so well, I had to slow down using it. I was down to using it only after a trim, or if I needed a super wake up-it's very refreshing to your head! Now, I'm trying to get my below waist hair longer and I'm using it again. One of the reasons I slowed my use was that it thickened it so much, it made my head too hot in the summer. Since it was long enough for me to be comfortable with it again, I used it for other things...like getting rid of ugly bruises and for massage lotion when the old man's back went out. (learned that one from a massage therapist!) NEVER heard of it making anyone's hair fall OUT!!!Nioxin, Rogaine...what works?!?!?!?
There is a product that you can get called DHT sensor...I carry it in my salon and it works wonders.... Make sure that you don''t have a thyroid problem that could cause your hair loss.
i have this same problem....but i came to conclusion that if either one of them REALLY worked like we are hoping they do...then why would anyone have thin hair or be bald???? i just don't think they work and decided that i would just have to learn to accept me for me....and that others would have to also. :)
why not try some home remedies
HAIR LOSS:
Those suffering from hair loss or baldness may apply a paste of hot olive oil,
one tablespoon or honey, one teaspoon cinnamon powder before bath and keep it
for approx. 15 min. and then wash the hair. It was found very effective even if
kept for 5 min. also.
First things first: Are you eating healthy? Are you stressed? Are you on any kind of medication? All of these are contributing factors to hair loss. As far as the aforementioned products I recommend Nioxin to my clients. However once you start using these, your body becomes dependent on the nutrients in the products. You may find that if you discontinue use your hair with once again start to fall out.
dunno
well im also 21 and going through the same thing.. and im going crazy! so if u find out what works let me know too.. thanx..

Its awesome! I've used it, so has my mom, and many of my clients.
The best way to start is to get the starter kit. It comes with the Cleanser(shampoo), Scalp Therapy(conditioner) and Treatment.
The different options are :
fine, normal or course
chemically treated or not
early stages or visibly thin
It says the combinations of these 3 right on the front of the starter kit box so you just have to pick the one that best describes your hair.Nioxin hair treatment?

How much does nioxin cost?
Most salons sell a starter kit for about $40 but I've seen the kits on sale for as low as $25.99. It consists of the shampoo, conditioner and serum. It smells nice too -- minty. They make a whole line of styling roducts now too, and I haven't priced those. They are about the same as any of the major lines like Redken, BedHed and similar products. How much does nioxin cost?
well alot like 10 dollar a shanpooHow much does nioxin cost?
It's a bit pricey. $10+ each for the shampoo and the conditioner. You can try Sally's. They sell a generic version of that line. Still pricey though.

Which Nioxin system should I use?
It seems I have very little hair now. I'm scared that I will get bald spots. I was recommended to use Nioxin but have no idea which system will be good. My hair is slightly wavy and gets tangled a lot. I'm not sure if it is ';fine'; or whatever. Which system should it be?Which Nioxin system should I use?
Ok....
Nioxin is first divided into 2 categories....the white bottles are for hair that's fine and thinning..and the beige coloured bottles are for thicker hair that is thinning.Next you have the forumla's for non chemically treated hair (bottles with black lids) and then you have the forumlas for chemically treated hair (gold lid). Heres how the systems work:
*System 1 : for fine, non checmically treated hair in the early stages of thinning
*System 2: for fine non chemically treated hair in the more advanced stages of thinning (where you can visibally see the scalp)
*System 3: For fine chemically treated hair in the early stages of thinning
*System 4: For fine chemically treated hair in the more advanced stages of thinning.
*System 5: For thick hair thats thinning and non chemically treated in the early stages of thinning
*System 6: For thick hair thats thinning and non chemically treated in the more advanced stages of thinning
*System 7: For thick, checmically treated hair thats thinning in the early stages
*System 8: For thick, chemically treated hair in the more advanced stages

Nioxin hair products?
I have heard that Nioxin will start new growth if you have lost hair. (My hairdresser put in extensions when she was in beauty school, and the glue made her lose chunks of hair). She claims that Nioxin made her hair grow back very quickly. Does it really work that well? How can something that you are using externally make hair grow? I also heard that it dries out your hair. Is that true?
Does anyone have any recommendations on faster hair growth?Nioxin hair products?
It's a noticeable change when you have actual spots of missing it. When you just want it to get longer, that's different. As far as I know (I've never actually used it on myself) Nioxin is used for people with very sensitive scalps, so it's made to be gentle on the skin. I've never heard of it drying out.Nioxin hair products?
I started using it a month ago and i haven't noticed any dryness or any new hair growth
