I am looking to thicken things up, and possible get some regrowth.
What are your personal experiences if you have tried it?Does Nioxin for thinning hair work?
I'm pretty sure Nioxin products only work if you have hair loss due to a particular kind of bacteria in your scalp. It doesn't help for hormonal or genetic hair loss.
Also, Nioxin doesn't grow hair. It claims to stop hair loss. Propecia and Rogaine are your best non-surgical bets for hair re-growth.Does Nioxin for thinning hair work?
Hi - I used to work for a hair restoration surgeon and although i have heard of Nioxin for thinning hair, my doctor has never recomended it to patients.
his recomendations were always rogain, and EXT which is a line that Hair Club carries.
BUT - he always told his patients if they want the best results, they need to go on propecia. Propecia is a daily prescription you take everyday until you die or no longer care about hair loss. Propecia stops the conversion of testosterone to dht which is what causes hair loss. It is the only one that is proven to strengthen weak hair and grow some of it back. It seriously does work - i have personally seen it work on many, many patients who were trying it as a last resort before surgery.
Downsides - you have to take it every day. when you stop, the dht will start up again and you will start thinning again. 2) the price. my doctor recommended that people fill it at costco, where its cheaper.
Anyway, after years of working for this guy I would recommend you make an appointent, get some propecia and start rogain or EXT. good luck and happy hair days!
