I heard people say this shampoo helps out with hair growth, I was wondering if there are any bad side effects from using it (hair loss, ect). And could I use it on a daily basis, or every other day?

I have done extensive study on hair growth/loss/health,ect...I have no personal exp. with the NIOXIN,but..I will tell you this,I do believe it is the ONLY topical/shampoo that MIGHT help with hair growth,I've heard nothing but good things about it:-)It's definately worth a shot.

There is no ';magic'; shampoo/oil,ect that will help,hair grows from the INSIDE of your body,not the ends of the hair.That's why diet is so important.However good hair products will help by keeping the outside/look of your hair healthier,protect it from breaking.
Try Loreal EVERPURE shampoo/conditioner,it is SULFATE-FREE,sulfates(sodium laurel/laureth sulfates) are BAD for your scalp/hair.They are used in cleaning products,like garage/floor cleaners,and they are in your current shampoo,can almost garuntee that(go check your lables),they are in 90% of shampoos,including Main N Tail,Pantene,ect

Nioxin, Rogaine...what works?!?!?!?
I'm 21 years old and I have been cursed with thin, fine hair. I recently started noticing that I seem to be losing hair, especially when I wash it. So, I started washing my hair every other day and I still see it. I have oily hair so I was washing it every day. I don't know if I am losing an excessive amount of hair but I am concerned. I haven't coloured it in a while, and I don't intend to colour it anytime soon, and I don't blowdry or straighten my hair either. But, I have heard great things about Nioxin helping people with fine hair so I'm wondering if that works? I've also heard that Nioxin makes your hair fall out more so I'm scared to use it. Also, some people say Rogaine is better, so I'm wondering which is best?
I also take a multi-vitamin and Biotin everyday.

I had my waist length hair cut (accidentally, in all places, REHAB!- just cause we're trying to get clean and normal doesn't mean everybody does :(...) to my collar bones and it devastated me! My youngest daughter (who is a cosmetologist) told me about Nioxin and I swear by it. In fact, it really worked so well, I had to slow down using it. I was down to using it only after a trim, or if I needed a super wake up-it's very refreshing to your head! Now, I'm trying to get my below waist hair longer and I'm using it again. One of the reasons I slowed my use was that it thickened it so much, it made my head too hot in the summer. Since it was long enough for me to be comfortable with it again, I used it for other things...like getting rid of ugly bruises and for massage lotion when the old man's back went out. (learned that one from a massage therapist!) NEVER heard of it making anyone's hair fall OUT!!!Nioxin, Rogaine...what works?!?!?!?
There is a product that you can get called DHT sensor...I carry it in my salon and it works wonders.... Make sure that you don''t have a thyroid problem that could cause your hair loss.
i have this same problem....but i came to conclusion that if either one of them REALLY worked like we are hoping they do...then why would anyone have thin hair or be bald???? i just don't think they work and decided that i would just have to learn to accept me for me....and that others would have to also. :)

I have heard that Nioxin will start new growth if you have lost hair. (My hairdresser put in extensions when she was in beauty school, and the glue made her lose chunks of hair). I heard mostly bad reviews...ok ..sorry to Nioxin....but true.
Eventually our chain stopped carrying the line.
Some of my clients even said they had what felt like an allergic reaction.....Nioxin told me that this was a normal response and that it was to stimulate blood flow......
The bottom line...to grow hair you need healthy circulation to your scalp....for me.. I recomend getting scalp massages from a friend or spouse...and try Flax seed vitamins or prenatal vitamins, and avoid using heavy hair creams that close the scalps surface. best of luck!

I have pretty normal hair, but it grows so slowly, and I really want to grow it out a lot. But as of right now it will take like a year to get it where I want it to grow to..and that's without cutting it, which I can't do haha.

Sorry I'm not a guy but I can tell you about Nioxen. It was originally made for Chemo patients for their hair loss. Now anyone can use it for hair loss. It's only found in salons. It used to be the best thing on the market for thinning hair but Grund came out with something better and you have results within 2 wks (I know because I use it). It's called Revive TH. It's a 2 step system (Nioxen has multiple steps), First is a shampoo and then a scalp spray. The only drawback for men would be that it makes your hair grow faster along w/ filling it in. The sooner you get diagnosed and treated, the sooner you can figure out what you need to do to stop losing any more hair. Make sure your doctor tests you for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). It can be diagnosed by a blood test, but your doctor has to specifically test for it to find it. Otherwise, you will go undiagnosed, which is what happened to me. If you have PCOS, your hair will not grow back, so early diagnosis important. If you have a thyroid condition, which is also diagnosed by a blood test, taking medication will regulate your body and your hair will mostly like grow right back. Make an appointment and get this taken care of. Good luck.

Recently, my hair has gotten pretty thin practically overnight, and I have normally very thick hair. Most of their products are made to thicken the hair follicle which gives the illusion of thicker hair, and stimulate the scalp (which helps hair grow). Alongside they want you to buy their vitamins which are nothing out of the ordinary, they are the typical vitamins/minerals which make your hair and nails grow. It also has special moisturizers to give nutrients back to the scalp. You should be putting the conditioner in the scalp not the hair as much. The shampoo is made to gently cleanse impurities off the scalp to ensure good hair growth. A treatment (not sure what one you are using) would stimulate the scalp to give you more hair growth. Hair must fall out to grow more. ( fall replacement cycle) But if you are having hair loss you might have new hair growth. If you need more help do not hesitate to email me.

i would suggest you to put coconut hairoil twice a week and before 30mins of taking bath... that makes hair really very shiny ,strong and manageable... u can use henna with egg pack also tht will also work out for u!!!plz dont go for any thing with high chemicals,specially with garnier i too noticed my hairfalling ...so plz try this out ...

PLEASE don't use Rogaine. It is a drug. Years ago it was a blood pressure medication (Minoxidyl) (hope I spelled it correctly!). GNC makes a tablet called ';Ultra Nourishair'; in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition. Even though I took these GNC pills for 4 months, I wouldn't recommend them because they are not the most high quality pills available.
ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called ';Hair Skin and Nails'; formula, here is the link for that
