apply anywhere that it's dry or damaged, usually the mid-shaft and ends, you shouldn't need to do the roots. All repair masks will work best if you warm them while they're on, apply, cover your hair with a plastic cap, then warm it with a blow dryer, leave it on for as long as the instructions say, not longer. Some people will leave these products on for way too long, thinking that it will be even better, but it doesn't sometimes it will make it feel brittle if you leave it on too long.
