How well does Nioxin Work?

I am 18 years old and since I was about 14, the front of my scalp significantly began to grow thinner. I still have hair there but it worries me about what would become of that area in the future. I know Nioxin does not necessarily grow back the hair but could it possibly make it took thicker and POSSIBLY just help that area grow back the hair it lost?
